Besides the usual birds, I had a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher flitting around in
the top of the dogwood for several minutes today. He even stayed long
enough for me to go upstairs and get the binoculars. First one this year.
It was a very nice surprise.
Also, a Pileated Woodpecker called two or three different times very close
and low from the edge of the woods behind the house.
The Red-bellies had a big family this year and they are all coming to the
feeders now. Same with the Blue Jays who are molting and looking very funny.
I throw peanuts on the deck for them.
