Try opening the Settings Centre (Ins+6 on Main Keyboard). Press
Shift+Tab once to land on the application box. Press Ctrl+D for
Default. Now tab down until you reach the tree view. Arrow down until you
land on Text Processing. Press RightArrow once to expand the view. arrow down
to General and press ArrowRight to expand the section. Arrow down to Phonetic
Announcement and expand the section.
Make sure the Spell Phonetically Always checkbox is unchecked. If it is
checked, uncheck it, tab over to the OK button and press Enter.
