Hi Cearbhall and all,
Not certain about the exact way my son copied my contacts but here is the
general idea.

First of all we opened outlook on my old computer and clicked on import/export.
We selected my contacts and exported these to a folder we had createdin my
documents. We then copied this folder to a memory key. We then inserted this
memory key into my new computer. We opened up office 2013 and went to
import/export and clicked on import. We found the folder containing my
contacts, clicked on this, clicked on ikmport and job complete.

Hope this makes sense.

Regards,

Niall

Niall,

For the benefit of all our knowledge, would you like to describe what you did
in the end?

All the best,

Cearbhall

Niall,

Outlook 2007 stores your contacts together with email messages in the same file
called "Outlook.tst" located in an outlook folder under documents and settings.
After Outlook 2010 Outlook changed to storing this information in a folder
called "Outlook" under "My Documents".

There are three possible ways you could do it:

1. You could transfer the contact folders alone by copying and pasting the
contacts from Outlook 2007 onto a pen drive and then copying them into the
contacts area in 2013.

2. The next method is to copy the entire Outlook .pst file to an external drive
and import the contents of the old file using a wizard in 2013. This one is
detailed in "Outlook help" and should give you specific instructions if you
look at help in Outlook 2013.

3. A third way is to use the cloud. If you are running iTunes and an iPhone or
iPod then you may already have synchronised your contacts with the iPhone using
the cloud as this is pretty well automatic nowadays. If so, then you could use
iTunes to merge your contacts into Outlook 2013 on the new PC from the Cloud.

If you find any difficulty using either of these three methods I would be happy
to give you a hand here on the list.

All the best,

Cearbhall
