Hi all.
With the moderators permission, I just wanted to let anyone interested in
getting involved with the Cork Exchange Club, that, as and from Saturday
next, the club has a new home.
So, the next meeting on Saturday June 18th will be from 12.00 noon 1.30pm
at Cork City Library.
The room is situated downstairs in the library building, at the back of the
building opposite the music library. The Cork city library is on grand
parade near the South Mall end, and directly opposite Oliver Plunkett
Street.
Just a brief reminder of what the club is all about. Vision impaired
people meeting to learn and share knowledge about computer technology,
everything from beginner to advanced iPhone information, laptops, apps,
useful additional technology, whatever people want to bring to the table.
This is a joint venture between Fighting Blindness and VICS. It is an
offshoot of the already established Dublin Exchange Club, and
representatives from both bodies have attended our first three meetings
and have kindly offered to continue to do so in order to help the Cork Club
get off the ground. To date, VICS stalwarts Tony Murry, Tim Culhane,
Padraig McLoughlin, Cearbhall Ó Meadhra and Michael Lavin have come down
from Dublin; and John Delaney from Fighting Blindness also attended the
first meeting.
