It does work Vincent from both networks as I have tried it. It has nothing to do with bullying but I appreciate your point. I may phone someone and may not want then to bother with calling me back or I may phone someone making an enquiry about say a product and I actually do not want to be bothered with them ringing me back. I have many friends who withhold their caller ID and it does not bother me.Eleanor -original message- Subject: [vip_students] Re: Mobile Corner From: "vincent stack" <vts@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: 23/07/2010 7:33 pmhello its 141 from a land line. and hash 31 hash from a mobile. but from Vodafone and o2 it does not work anymore from meteor it does work. i think they stopped it because of phone call bullying and so on. anyway i agree. if you cant show your number why ring someone.regards Vincent From: albert brown Sent: Friday, July 23, 2010 2:32 PM To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [vip_students] Re: Mobile Corner Hello Eleanor,to block a landline number the prefix is 141, to block a mobile number it is hash31hash followed by the mobile number you are calling.Bert----- Original Message ----- From: Eleanor BurkeTo: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, July 23, 2010 1:04 PM Subject: [vip_students] Mobile Corner Hi AllIn the UK when I use my landline or mobile phone, I can prefix the number with the digits 141 to withhold my caller ID. Is there anything similar here in Ireland? I have tried this 141 prefix but it did not work here.Eleanor
