To turn it off don't you just select it when in it so that it acts as a toggle. It is best not to do this via Talks but rather to do it through the phone settings where you have set my caller ID and this way you get the person who is calling just in the same way as someone not using Talks, if you get what I mean. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roslyn Allman" <roslynallman@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi All,

In the below mail I described a problem I was having with my caller ID. Jacqui instructed me how to change a feature on my phone but can't figure it out quite to the end.

Jacqui said press talks key, then star, then arrow right till I hear caller id off. I got this far but how do I turn caller id on?

Thanks in advance.

Roslyn

Hey Roslyn

I had the N70 for around a day and found this same problem however, mine would say mobile numbers but wouldn't announce landlines, it was very annoying. I was told it was a software problem but had the phone on lone to decide if i wanted it and decided against it due to this potential issue. you can get talks to automatically say whose calling by going into the talks setting, talks key and star and arrow right till you hear caller id however, even when i tried this with the n70 the announcing landlines still posed a problem. I'm not sure is there a built in caller id in the n70 you would find this in the profiles and the mobile speak will announce whose calling.

yours
Jackie

Hi there,

Apologies if this has been on the list before.

I'm using an N70 and when the phone rings I press key 2 to find out who is calling. However talks does not always announce this. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hi Susan

by any chance are you using Norton anti virus. I had a similar problem when using Norton where it was taking ages to open every application and it was due to my anti virus settings. i.e. it was scanning the actual applications aswell as its files. If your not using Norton then I'd suggest a disc clean up as John has suggested
.
