I have just had a demonstration of the OrCam approximately 15 minutes long, it
seems to do what it says on the box, but as I was reading literature that was
provided by the demonstrator. I wonder how it would work in real life. It
doesn’t come cheap, and it seems to be new to the market or at least on this
side of the world. If anyone has one or has experience of one. I would be
interested to know how they got on, I was impressed with demonstration and it
would seem to be a very good little device. I may be wrong but would also
appear to be more useful for people with some vision as the camera clips onto
your glasses and you have to look in the direction of the print that you are
trying to read . It had no problem in reading a print out on an A4 sheet, a
newspaper, text messages on my phone, a computer screen and what was most
impressive was the fact that it could read the prices of items in a glass case,
I also believe it incorporates face recognition how accurate this would be I
don’t know, and it can be programmed to recognise items such as household stuff
you may have in the cupboard. You can personalise this section and store up to
150 items and I think 100 facial recognitions.

interested in it and hopefully someone can get back to me with the pros and
cons. I can’t find any useful reviews at present, so our comments would be
welcome.
