Importing emails and contacts in Outlook 2003

To import emails and contacts in Outlook 2003,

Step 1.
go to File menu then arrow down to >"Import and Export." Press enter at
this option.

Step 2.
The Import and Export Wizard will open: The next choice you have to make is
in the Choose an action to perform listing, Arrow down this list and select
Import Internet Mail and Addresses by stopping on this option.

Step 4.
Use the tab key to get to the next button and click on it.

Note that the Wizard's next screen will allow to optionally exclude emails
or contacts from the import process.
This means you can choose if you want to import all mail and addresses or
just one or the other.

The Wizard next opens the Outlook Import Tool; Outlook 2003 supports
importing emails and contacts from email programs such as,
*Qualcomm Eudora
* or various versions of Outlook Express.

Note: In Outlook Express' case, you can also import email rules.

Step 5.
Choose your email client that you wish to import from by using the arrow
keys.

Step 6.
uncheck items you do not want to import: by default, emails and
contacts (plus rules, for Outlook Express) are selected.
Learn to understand this portion of the process by taking your time to
consider what you want to do.
When you have made your choices, press the enter key on or Click Next.

(Avoiding Duplications of Imported Contacts into Outlook 2003)

Outlook 2003 lets you choose how to handle the import of potential duplicate
contacts; choose between:

. Allow duplicates to be created (default)

. Replace duplicates with items imported (only if the email client from
which you import has more recent information), or

. Do not import duplicate items (any duplicates is completely left out of
the import).

Step 7.
Arrow through these choices till you have made your decision then tab key
and hit enter or click on, Finish.

If you have done everything correctly then you should have success. If it
hasn't worked for you on the first attempt then just keep practicing and as
always don't be afraid to ask questions if you need further clarification
here on the list.

Good luck,

Paul.
