OK Anthony., I'm going to take you through the menu. I suggest that you
follow along and familiarise yourself with the layout before trying some
translations. Have fun.
When you open Qtranslate, you will probably be in the first edit box where
you input the word you wish to translate. Just to be sure that you are,
press Control with letter N and you will definitely be there.
Now tab once and it should say edit. This is the second edit box where your
translation should appear.
Another tab takes you to a further edit box where corrections may or not
appear. Don't worry about that one for now.
Tab again and it will say New. Pressing this is the equivalent of the
Control + N key mentioned earlier which takes you back to the first Edit box
where you input your text.
The next tab will say V. Ignore this for now and carry on tabbing.
You will now be in a combo box where you can choose the language from which
you wish to translate. Go through them and make a choice.
The next tab is for switching the order between your chosen languages. For
example, if your first choice is English and your second choice, the
language you wish to translate into (which you can choose from your next
tab), this will allow you to reverse the language order. If you had chosen
English into Spanish, this middle selection switchs from Spanish into
English.
The next tab says Translate, this carries out your translation but if your
program is set to Instant Translation, it will have already done so.
Tabbing again allows you to hear your translation spoken.
The last tab says colon button. Pressing spacebar on this brings you into
the menu where you can make changes to your settings. For instance, the
first two options you will hear will be Spellchecking and Instant
Translation. Pressing enter on either of these checks the selection if it
is not already marked checked and takes you back to the colon button.If they
are already checked, do not change these.
Have fun playing around with this. Pressing Control and letter H allows you
to clear your history. First tab three times to clear and enter, then
another 3 tabs to Ok and enter once again.
As I pointed out in my earlier email, if you have Qtranslate opened and have
done an Alt Tab to a document and want to translate a word or phrase, simply
press your left Control key twice in rapid succession. Qtranslate will
open, hopefully with your translation.

OK Anthony, here goes. Others may also find this useful.
It is a language translation program, not too complicated and quite vision
impaired friendly. You can choose the languages to translate from and
into., type in your word or phrase and you get a translation which you can
read by tabbing around. You can even hear the word or phrase spoken.
However, like all translation programs, it cannot be totally relied upon.
This is because it will translate literally and, quite often, literally
translating from one language into another simply doesn't make sense.
You can download qtranslate free from the home page:

If you think you might find it useful and decide to try it out and need any
further info after you have downloaded the program, let us know.
A couple of observations for anyone thinking of using qtranslate. If you
are reading a document on a desktop or laptop and need a translation, you
can open qtranslate, then go back and select the appropriate word or phrase
to be translated, then simply tap the Control key twice and qtranslate will
open with your translation. It is advisable to close the program when not
using it as it can interfere with other programs, for example JAWS or NVDA.
There are menus from which you can set some functions to suit your needs.
