Hi Maureen, When you connect a querty keyboard to a laptop which has been previously set up with jaws laptop keyboard, do the following to change over to querty: 1. While on the desktop, press keys, "Insert + letter j" 2. Now you should hear it say jaws or even jaws context menus. Press right arrow once if you hear it say "Options" and then press enter on basics. If you only hear it say "jaws" then press keys "alt + O" to open up the options menu and press enter on basics. 3. Tab over to keyboard and if it says something ike "laptop" then up or down arrow to change it to desktop. 4. Tab over to OK and press enter. To be honest, I use a querty on all laptops I work on and never bother to change the keyboard layout. It doesn't seem to matter too much that I can tell. -----Original Message----- From: vip_students-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:vip_students-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Maureen Newelll Sent: 10 May 2010 07:40 To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [vip_students] Querty with laptop I have sent the below message twice to the VICs list but it has been returned by the mail delivery system. When using a querty keyboard with laptop can the laptop be set as desktop in control panel or must one still go along with laptop keystrokes?
