Hi Mairead, By any c hance did you update items on your computer lately from the Microsoft site using the windows update?. If so there is a chance that you downloaded Internet Explorer 7 which is not compatible with jaws 4.5, you would have to update to jaws 7.1 for that to work successfully. If you'd like to check this out, when in Internet Explorer, go into the help menu and arrow downt o "about" press the enter key. Now use the jaws cursor to read the resulting screen to see if it updated itself to IE7. If this happened you can go into "control panel, add or remove programs" and arrow down to IE7. There you can choose to uninstall it and this will roll it back to IE6. Just as an extra little point, make sure when in Internet Explorer that you maximise the screens. Use left alt + spacebar and arrow down to maximise then hit enter key. Also, it is wise to check your display settings and make sure that they are set correctly. Things like very graphical and colourful wallpapers such as photos etc as well as flashy screen savers cause jaws to lose focus. Since then I haven't been able to read the contents of combo boxes. When I hold down the alt and press the down arrow and arrow through the options jaws says nothing. I deleted any items that were in start up under programmes but it didn't make any difference. I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know if there are any settings that I could change.
