It's probably time to put your phone down.
Selfie elbow' - don't laugh, it's a real medical condition now.
Unlike more athletic injuries caused through the likes of tennis or baseball,
selfie-lovers out there are also putting their elbows at risk with each smiling
snap.
The phenomena was noted after NBC journalist Hoda Kotb developed a pain in her
elbow and visited the doctors to investigate.
The anchor told

Elle: "I went to the orthopaedist and he said, 'Are you playing tennis or
ping-pong?' And of course I'm not, so I told him I was taking selfies.
"When you take the picture, your arm is up, bent in a weird way and you just
click, click, click-think about how many you take: 20, 30, or 40. Selfie elbow,
everyone has it!"
"You put too much stress on the muscle and it irritates the area where the
muscle comes off the bone and you get this inflammatory response."
Kotb, meanwhile, says she's making no plans to quit the selfie game, despite
admitting that a new technique will be required as she recovers.
"I'm not going to stop taking selfies," she insisted. "But now I prop it with
my left arm to help alleviate some of the pressure. When my elbow is
ultra-sore, I ask someone else to take the selfie. When it starts to feel
better, I start taking them again!"
There's just no helping some people...
