sHi Eleanor, First, my condolences with you on your dog pedrro's passing. As you have observed, you often need to press a key more than once, on occasion as many as 4 times, to get the desired letter. Pressing the 1 key, for example, from 1 to 4 times gives comma, full stop, question mark, and exclamation mark. The alphabet: number 2 once for a, twice for b, three times for c. Number 3, d e f. Number 4, g h i. Number 5, j k l. Number 6, m n o. Number 7, p q r s. (You hit 7 four times to get s). Number 8, t u v. Number 9, w x y z. Other characters may be got from the Add Symbols dialogue, or whatever it may be called on your phone, as well as by pressing some of tthe above keys five, six, or even seven times. It may be helpful to have Talks echo each keystroke as you type, for the moment. Talks will usually cycle through - so that if you press 7 four times, you will probably hear, "7, q, r, s". You may get more (and better) feedback on these things from more experienced texters than me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eleanor Burke" <eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 30, 2008 4:53 PM Subject: [vip_students] Sending Text Messages Has anyone worked out an effecient way of doing this, say using the talks on vodafone. I am looking for a quick fix, have never sent text messages but would like to give it a go. I know that one has to hit keys a certain number of times to get each diffeent letter but maybe someone has made out a list like how many times to hit for a b c etc rather than having to think and work it out at each letter as one goes along, like I think for e one has to hit the 2 twice.
