Joe you could also try, "Reset" in "Settings" & General & Reset all Settings. This restores the phone back to it's factory default settings, but if you do this as a last resort you then have to put in your password again for your WI-FI connection & Apple I D. As well as resetting your Time & Date, as well as other settings you have set to your desired choice.

You have to acttivate VoiceOver as your shortcut, so that it's activated quickly by pressing the home button three times.

Maybe Siri is now off and needs to be turned on again to activate it.

Subject: [vip_students] Siri not coming on

Hi folks,

My iphone 5 got locked up yesterday.since then siri has not worked right.
Because when I turn off the phone siri does not come on so I had to get a
sighted person to turn it on and turn on voice over on also . I have tried
pressing the home key and siri does not speak to ask it a question . The
clicks on the phone are gone also and thisassistive touch keeps coming up.
And the voice is very astorted.
