It sounds like the registry problem and solution described below. Are you OK
with editing the registry?

disclosed that the double start-up might be due to a registry problem, and
indeed in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\.\Shell Folders and .\User Shell Folders,
[Current User] Start-up was incorrectly designated as \All Users\.\Startup\
folder instead of \Current User\...Startup\ (the strange behaviour of
Start-up and Common Start-up items in msconfig, and my 'inactive' User's
\Startup\ folder, were also clues to this).
Windows was looking TWICE at the \All Users\.\Startup\ folder, and not
looking at all in \Current User\.\Startup\.
I can only assume that all the other items also present in the \All
Users\...\Startup\ folder were simply incapable of starting twice, for their
own reasons.

Hi all
I'm hoping someone can help me. For some reason when my laptop starts up 2
versions of Jaws start and speak at the same time.
I only have version 18 of Jaws installed on the laptop.
Any ideas as to what's going on?
