Hi Tina, for information my solution to having not enough eyesight to see
displays is to have conventional,normal price, devices in my kitchen which have
mechanical knobs I can select and rotate to settings I can memorise, with
sighted help to set them up. I have a fullize electric cooker, as smaal
micro-wave sized oven which has a useful 15 minute mechanical timer, and a
microwave over I can time using the small cooker's timer or estimate the number
of seconds by saying 1-onethousand, 2-twoonethousand det.
For large volume measurements in mls I assume a mug holds about 300 mls. For
weighin gin grams there is hte normal weithing scales with a clock-like hand
you can feel, and set up with sighten help.
Maybe this is just self-evident but it in my experience I depend on memorising
mechanical settings and what I can feel.
I seem to remember someone set up a a cooking e-mall list for VIPs in Ireland a
few years ago.

Hi everyone,
I’m searching for a talking kitchen scale or at least one with a large display.
I found them on the Ireland assist website but they don’t give prices. They
also have them at Amazon UK, but I don’t want to pay in pounds and there will
be an extra charge for the shipping.
What are people here using? Just a big display is probably cheaper and would do
for me. And I need the weight in g and kg.
