Hi All, It's always a good idea that from time to time you create a new system restore point on your computer. There are many reasons why you'd want to do this such as perhaps a new piece of software has been installed, some new settings have been applied to Windows OS or the software packages installed on it, you could think of lots of reasons for this. Here's how to go about creating a system restore point; 1. Open the start menu, press the "Windows key", mouse users click on the start button. 2. Type into the search box the word "Create" excluding the quotes. 3. Now use the arrow keys to move down through the list or scroll with the mouse till you come to "Create a system restore point" and left click or press the enter key and wait for the System Restore settings page to load up. The page will contain the following items; *. What is system protection? Link. *. System Restore... button. *. Protection settings button. *. List view, A list of any hard drives internal or external on your computer and which could contain system restore points. *. Configure... button, "Alt + O". *. Create...button, "Alt + C". *. OK button. *. Cancel button. Notes: For those using a keyboard, use the tab key to move around the screen to the various controls mentioned above then use the spacebar to activate them. In the case of a list box use the arrow keys, mouse users can scroll these lists. 4. Use the keys "Alt + C" to jump over to the "Create button" and press the spacebar. Mouse users, left click on the Create button to activate it. 5. The next screen that comes up will present you with an edit box where you type in a user friendly description for your restore point, basically give your restore point a name, I called mine "Pauls Restore" excluding the quotes. 6. Now tab key once to the create button or press keys, "Alt + C" and the restore point will be created. Mouse users, left click on the "Create button". Notes: The creation of the restore point can take a few moments so give it time. When it has completed you will be presented with a "Close button" left click with the mouse or press the spacebar to activate it. 7. Finally, close out of the System Restore settings dialogue box using keys, "Alt + F4" or by clicking the X at the top right with the mouse. -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter.
