[Solid Files Tutorial] (Uploading files to solid files) 1. First use the link below to access the Solid Files web site. Note that you will have to first sign up but it's a pretty simple sign up form to complete: https://www.solidfiles.com/manage/# Notes: You may or may not be asked for your user name and password depending on how you first signed into the site and if you asked the sign in process to remember your details for the future. 2. When you enter into the page above you will be interested mainly in the following links: *. File Manager. *. Your Account. *. Log Out. *. My Files. *. New Folder. 3. When you arrow down to new folder just below this link about six lines further down will be the beginning of your list of currently uploaded files. Notes: You can use in both jaws and NVDA the keys, "Insert + F7" to pull up a list of links and move quickly down through them till you come to the first uploaded file which is also a "Link". 4. To begin uploading a file, press the letter "E" for edit which jumps you into the upload a file edit box. If you don't know the exact name of the file then press the "tab key" once to move focus to the browse button and here press the spacebar key. 5. When a new page opens up it will look much like the usual dialogue box you get on your computer. When you are attempting to open up a file. If using windows XP press the key combo of "Shift + Tab key" once to access a list of files on your computer or while in the main file name edit box type in a location where the file you wish to upload is currently stored and press enter key once. Notes: do the "Shift + tab" mentioned above.to look for the file contained in that location. 6. Press enter key on the file you wish to upload and it will begin to upload to the Solid Files web site. Depending on how large the file is will depend on how long it takes. 7. When the upload begins two things will happen, first a "Close" button will pop up, do not press spacebar or enter on this button for a moment but instead if you wait a moment you will gradually hear the percentage of the file that is being uploaded and how much has so far uploaded to the server, wait till this reaches "100%" and then press the spacebar on the "Close" button to complete the upload process. (Downloading files from solid files) 1. To begin downloading a file from solid files first go into the solid files web page using the link I gave at the beginning of these notes. 2. Now use keys, "Insert + F7" to pull up a list of links and here you can either arrow down through the list of presented links till you reach your required file or if you know the name of the file then press the first letter of the file name till you are on it. 2. When focused on the file tab twice to the "Activate link" button and press the enter key to go into the page where the file is contained. 3. Once again use keys, "Insert + F7" to pull up a list of links and this time look for the link called "Download" then press tab key twice to move onto the "Activate link" button and press the enter key. Notes: One of the things I dislike on solid files at this point an advertisement will pop up blocking your access to the dialogue box that is asking you if you wish to "Run or save" the file, to remove this advertisement from blocking you, use keys, "Alt + F4" to close it. 4. After removing the annoying advert, now use keys, "Left alt + letter N" to pull up the prompt asking if you wish to run or save and here use your tab key to choose which you want to do followed by spacebar to complete. Notes: Now the download should begin and you just wait for it to complete its download.
