[vip_students] Using the jaws research feature!

One of the nice little features in jaws is the research tool. I was asked
recently how to use this and thought I would write it down for anyone
interested here on the list.
The purpose of the research tool in jaws is to locate the definition of a
word or phrase using commonly known about on-line dictionaries. To begin
using the utility;
1. From anywhere on your computer, press the keys, "JAWS Key + Spacebar".
2. Now press the letter "R" and wait a moment or two then the research it
utility will open up.
3. You will have the following items on your screen;
Use the "tab key" to move between the below items in the jaws research
utility window and for any buttons you need to click on press the spacebar.
*. Word or phrase Edit combo.
*. A list of useful web services such as dictionaries, On-line shopping,
Area codes etc. Use the up or down arrow to move to the different choices.
*. Read only edit box which gives you a short synopsis of what the currently
highlighted list item does.
*. OK button.
*. Cancel button.
*. Maintain word or phrase history, "checkbox checked".
*. Clear history item button.
*. Clear all history items button.
*. Options button.
4. When you first open up the research utility you will be in the "Word or
phrase" edit combo box. Also the default item in the list will be
Wiktionary.com. Go ahead and type into the edit combo box a word or a phrase
of your choice.
5. Once you have typed in the word or phrase, tab over to the "OK" button
and press the spacebar to have the researchIt tool go and find information
relating to your search criteria.
6. When the results are returned use the arrow keys to move through the text
and read it for you.
