Hi Joan Ann,

Mp4 is indeed a video format.

It will only play in iTunes, Quicktime and/or on an iPhone or iPad.

If your using Windows Media Player, you will need a video in the format of wma
or possibly avi.

If mkv is an option, you will need a media player called vlc.

The formats available for each video differ, but it is possible to convert mp4
to another format online if you need to.

Kind regards,

Niall

Hi Niall

Thanks very much. I went with option 2

Just a question, do you know is Mp4 a video format as there seem to be a lot of
choices for downloading.

Thanks

Joan Ann.

Hi Joan Ann,

I haven’t done this in a while, but I believe there are two options.

1. You can download a program especially for downloading online videos in
either video or audio formats.

2. You can go to a site such as KeepVid, and paste the video’s URL and download
it as a video file.

You can visit KeepVid at the below link:

http://keepvid.com

Option 2 is much quicker, but Option 1 might be worth devoting some time to if
there are a lot of videos you want to download on an ongoing basis.

The same limitations apply to downloading a video as downloading actual audio,
i.e. if the YouTube video is restricted and/or the uploader has made
downloading impossible, the above options will not work.

Also, pay attention to the file format of the downloaded video, as .flv will
only play in a flash player.

Kind regards,

Niall

Hi all
Does anyone know if it is possible to save a video from youtube? I know you
can do it for audio files but I need the picture as well.

Thanks
Joan Ann.
