Hi Mary,

Below is a direct link to a free zip utility which is much more jaws
friendly than WinZip. I use it all the time so if you have questions about
using it just let me know. This zip utility will open up any files created
by winzip or many other zip formats so its safe to use. For now I have
given you instructions on how to open up a zipped up file and how to create
a zip file.
Here is the link:
http://kent.dl.sourceforge.net/project/sevenzip/7-Zip/9.15/7z915.exe

(Opening a zip file)
1. Wherever you have the zipped up file stored, it could be in my documents,
a downloads folder etc., just go into that folder and arrow down to the
actual file.

2. When you are on that file, press the application key, "third key from
right of spacebar".

3. From the resulting menu, arrow down to the "7-zip" sub menu and right
arrow in here.

4. Arrow down to "extract or extract all" and press enter.
Note: At this point 7-zip will suggest a folder where it will open up the
contents of the zipped file into. You can go ahead with this one by
pressing "enter key" or delete the path shown and type in a new area where
you want to have the unzipped contents go into.

Once it has finished unzipping the files you will be able to work with them.

(Creating a zip file)

You have some documents which are quite large and you need to send them to
someone. You decide you will add them into a zip file:

1. First select only the files you want to zip up. You can do this within
"my documents" by arrowing down through each one of the files and while
holding down the control key, press the spacebar on each of the files you
wish to add to your zip file. As you arrow down through the files list, keep
the control key pressed down even while arrowing and only press the spacebar
on a file you want to zip up.

2. Once all your files have been selected, press the application key, "third
out from right of spacebar" could be different on a laptop.

3. From the menu, arrow down to the "7-zip sub menu" and right arrow in
here.

4. From this menu, choose "add to archive" by pressing the enter key and
here you will be asked to give the new file a suitable name.
Important: Make sure that the new filename ends with a ".zip" extension at
the end otherwise the file cannot be opened. Your file name should look like
the following:

PaulsFiles.zip

5. Press enter to begin creating the file.

Notes: 7-zip will take a few moments to add the list of files you selected
earlier to its new file.
