try these for starters

press b to go back a track

use control and right arrow to fast forward

use control and left arrow to rewind
up or down arrow for volume

previous track press letter z
use control j to bring up a dialogue box where you can type in the position you want to jump to e.g.if listening to an audio book.

Can forward/rewind in Winamp but what is the keystroke to pause, thought that it was spacebar but doesn't work for me.

Winamp also has pod-ctacthing capabilities; although i haven't investigated it much. 

An alternative pod-catcher comes in the WebbIE suite of programs, from

www.webbie.org.uk

You may with Internet Explorer subscribe to podcasts (which its treats the same as RSS feeds). (The podcasts themselves are 'enclosures' or attachments, which you can download manually or choose to have downloaded automatically. (However, if chosen, this last option should be handled with care, as Internet Explorer will then try to download all available previous episodes in a podcast series.)

In my earlier tutorial I mentioned "Windows Media Player" as a pod catcher, it is not what I should have mentioned as an alternative pod catcher was 
"Juice" along with ITunes.
