Hello Paul.

In my opinion, NVDA is the most reliable screen reader with Windows 10 in terms of responsiveness. I personally do not like Windows 10. Its worth mentioning that Windows 10 will continue to be free of charge even after the July 29th deadline for Visually impaired customers. So much is wrong in terms of accessibility that Microsoft have decided to let it remain free for screen access tech users for at least the near future. Jaws works OK, but jaws 17 has an annoying habit of not reading out the start menu sometimes. Its been so bad on some customer's systems that we've had to install an alternative start menu program for them to bring it back to the XP/Windows7 look. We also have a Windows 10 try before you upgrade service if you want to take a look at Windows 10 before upgrading to it. details can be found at:

https://vits.org.uk/services/try-windows-10

Please don't hesitate to contact me on or off list if you'd like any more info on Windows 10.

all the best,

Mo.

Hi Dominique.

Thanks so much for the response and for prompting this discussion in the
first place.  It is quite a jump from XP or Vista straight to Windows 10
without going through 7 or 8 so perhaps familiarisation will improve your
experience.  Any other observations on Windows 10 + JAWS.  And what do
people think of it with NVDA?

Paul I'm using Windows 10 with Jaws 17.2 and I personally don't like it,
it's so much different than XP & Vista, but I'm only using it for two
months, so my opinion may change of it over time!

Thanks Dominique and Flor.

Are there many of you out there using Windows 10 and what is the
experience like?  What version of JAWS is needed to be able to
reasonably navigate using Windows 10, what are the limitations, Edge
being one as Flor has stated, and how does Windows 10 perform with NVDA?

It seems like a good time to open a discussion on this topic given
that there is barely a month left to take advantage of the update.  I
have changed the subject line to reflect this.

Hi Joe,

Overcast is accessible, and free. There's another that I like, called
RSSRadio. There is of course the native Podcasts app, which you could
go with for a while anyway.

Hi folks,

I had the app downcast  on my iphone 5 but it stopped working. So I
removed the app and downloaded  the app again.  But it is downloading
some of the podcasts but some of them  are not downloading any
podcasts after the 20th jume. And the app is not working the same way
as before.  Can anybody give me a app that is accessible.
