Hi Susan,
Nothing, its purely for reading PDF files at least thats what I have only
ever used it for but it is necessary nowadays to have it for this purpose as
more and more documents are being distributed in this file format. PDF
stands for "Portable Document Format".

i have noticed that when carrying out a search on google there is many
results come up in pdf files. but apart from this is that all it does?

Hi Susan,
Have no worries about using adobi reader as it works fine with jaws as long
as it is the correct version. You need to download the "full download of the
adobi reader. I have pasted in the direct download for the version below for
anyone who might need it.

I have, and use, Adobe 8 on my computer and it doesn't interfere with Jaws.
As far as I know this is the latest version.

is it correct what I've heard that if you have adobe on your computer it cam
interfere with jaws?
some one sent me an attachment with this article but it was in PDF format
and I know I don't have adobe reader on my computer because of what I've
heard about it interfering with the jaws.

Hi Susan,
Just to help out here. Adobe Reader is the program that gives you access to
PDF files (you cannot read them with any other program). So I guess your
computer is trying to install it so that it can open the PDF file. Paul may
be able to talk you through the install over the phone if you need further
help.

set up for receiving PDF files, now my computer keeps saying a dobie reader
install, I can't stop this, what can I do? and what did I do to get this
