Hi Patrina, Thank you too for getting in touch. I indeed know one Jaws proficient trainer in Drogheda and truly you are blessed to have her! NCBI today, when I called them, did mention to me of that online Fas course! Perhaps I will trawl the Fas site to find it! I presume that's where it is? Now if this miserable "summer" weather persists I'm afraid that there will be no ECDL course to be taken here. We will all be emigrating, permanently! Have a great weekend regardless! All the best, Tony Sweeney. ----- Original Message ----- From: Petrina Finn To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, June 22, 2007 10:40 AM Subject: [vip_students] Re: ecdl courses Hi Tony, Fas also do an ecdl course on line. You could check it out on the website. I am in Drogheda and I know one of the instructors in the Drogheda office is JAWS proficient. Maybe if you contact your local office they may be able to point you in the right direction. I know you said that the course in Finglas on a saturday doesn't suit, but it is very good and all JAWS orientated. (I must get some commision off Paula for all this advertising!). Good Luck with that. I did some learning with Fas in Tallagh a couple of years ago and I found that I.T accessability for VI's wasn't as it should have been! I would admit however that my knowledge of Jaws wasn't as reasonably good as it is now! It was audio-visual learning and the lessons were stopped every so often for questions by the system and then you had to be able to manipulate the mouse to restart the learning again! Do you know if the courses you checked out are suitable for say Jaws users? I have no doubt that not all Fas courses are not in that bracket of accessability deficit, but where are they? The course was supposed to be designed to facilitate blind students as an integral part of the class! By the way I am very close to Kildare so I would love feedback for places of I.T learning there too. Perhaps others around the country might be interested to know of such courses in their area also! All the best, Tony Sweeney. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ger Delaney To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, June 20, 2007 6:21 PM Subject: [vip_students] ecdl courses Hi Tony The only suggestion for an ECDL course in the Dublin is Fas.
