Hi Vincent,

You could try this. The following address will give you Facebook chat in  
a separate Internet Explorer tab or window. When you use this address 
you'll be asked for your log in details unless you're already logged into 
Facebook in which case it will just open up a page purely for chat. 
Haven't used it much myself just played around with it there and it seems 
ok. When you're finished on chat you can just close the tab or window. 
Give it a try. The address is http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php
