[vip_students] free up disc space

Hi Folks,
I am useing outlook express, however when I press alt f4 to come out of the
program I get this message,
alt f4 outlook express dialog to free up disc space outlook express can compact
messages this may take up to a few minutes, ok button to activate hit space bar.
Why am I getting this message? how will I know if I need to do this?
