I can’t answer your main question. But remember, that today’s date is 2nd of
August (second of the eighth.) The American date style is to give the month
first. So that, if VoiceOver is using the USA date style, it will say,
“February 8th” instead of August 2nd”., (Tomorrow it will say, “8th March”! If
possible, can you see or have someone look at the screen to see what date is
being displayed? That would at least clarify if it’s a VoiceOver thing or a
more general date/time issue. (By the way, I don’t know how the Dutch –
Amsterdam – display their dates.)

I know this is drastic, but I’ve done this on my iPhone too, ok I’ve to do some
alterations, but VoiceOver always comes back on, but not on my iPod. I
“Reset”, my iPod, and now I noticed that the date is 8th February 2017 and the
time was an hour ahead, and the country was Amsterdam. I was able to change
the time and country back to Dublin, but for some reason it won’t allow me to
change the date, and when I change the date and double tap on “Done Button”,
And then when I go back into it again, it’s still the same (8th February).
I’ve done this in “Settings, General & Date & Time. I’ve even gone into
“Clock” and today’s date is shown, and when I double tap on it it doesn’t
change either. Yesterday’s date on it was “2nd January”.
Have you any suggestions?
