Hey Eleanor 

If you go to either a blank email or document and place two fingers on the 
screen, swipe one finger down and see do you hear typing mode. use a one finger 
swipe down and change it to touch typing. Now do the two finger job and swipe 
down and get out of that, I always set mine to headings and change it when 
needed. 
but I'm weird anyway haha
