Hi Jackie,
To set your speaking of JAWS to Characters and words do the following;
1. While on the desktop press keys, "Insert + Letter V".
2. The JAWS quick settings list will pop up, arrow down to "Editing Options".
3. Arrow down once here and you should be on the option, "Typing echo
characters", press the spacebar on this to toggle it to "Typing echo both words
and characters".
4. Tab over to OK and press the spacebar to complete.

will give that a go once i pick up the courage to work on it again. how do you
set jaws speaking letters and words permanently as at the moment i'm doing
incert2 but had it set up before to automatically speak them.
