Theoretical and empirical research and undergraduate and post-graduate education are focused on the following themes: sustainable production and consumption; (inter)national environmental policies and politics; nature policy; sustainable technology development. We cooperate in research and education with other disciplines from a solid disciplinary background in sociology and political sciences. The Group participates in two national graduate schools, and is an active member and chair of a large number of international research networks. The group has 15 faculty members, some 30 international PhD students and annually 30-40 international master students. At the Group there is a vacancy for a sociologist or political scientist to become assistant/associate professor in international environmental governance. This faculty member will carry out research; supervise PhD and Master students; lecture and manage courses and education programs; and initiate, acquire and manage research projects. This all in the field of international (and comparative) environmental politics and governance, with a focus on environment and climate change rather than natural resource issues.
