I don’t know whether this could be related in any way but perhaps it’s worth 
giving it a brief look: in Sept. 2018 I had a discussion in this group as I 
also did see problems using WASAPI in exclusive mode resulting in partially 
disturbed buffers in my driver. In my case it finally turned out that the 
playback/record application checked for AUDCLNT_BUFFERFLAGS_DATA_DISCONTINUITY 
which doesn’t seem to be supported in WASAPI exclusive mode. I changed my 
testing app according to

 and then it worked fine. Did you try different applications for 
recording/playback?
