[wdmaudiodev] Audio Device names in Win 7 Sound control panel

I am observing inconsistent behavior. Sometimes my USB Audio device is listed
in Sound control panel as Speaker/2-MyDeviceName and other times just as
Speaker/General USB Audio. In each case the string MyDeviceName is available
and listed as friendly name, device name and Kernel Streaming name, but not
WASAPI name. I can get both behaviors happen on either of my laptop's USB
ports. Anybody met this before? What could be the cause?

Regards,
