Q: can i set the default role for each endpoint of my audio when installing the drivers? A: Using the same mechanism as on XP, you can add a registry directive to your driver's installation INF that will effectively request the audio system to make your device the default device for all roles. This doesn't allow finer control such as setting your device for only certain roles. I don't have the information at my fingertips but if you search your DDK for SetupPreferredAudioDevices it should lead you to the information. I'll have to leave your other question for others to answer. Your driver should expose support for only the speaker configurations that it considers possible for your hardware. There is no direct way to control this as far as I know but there may be ways your driver can influence the initial setting. Do you want your device initially configured for speakers other than stereo even though there's no guarantee that the user has plugged additional speakers (unless you have jack detection)? Hi. Any idea of how can i set the default role for each endpoint of my audio when installing the drivers? And how can i change the default Speaker Configuration for my output endpoint? Thanks!
