I know other solutions, which of course also has it's disavantages:-as a driver writer you could write a old style mme-driver (example included in the NT4 DDK). Disadvantage: does not seem to be supported in 64-bit operating systems. The mme driver was also a solution to some known XP/W2k Bugs, which some of you may remember:
