The Vista heuristics should pick the speaker automatically. There may be some problem in how your device is describing itself. For starters, you should confirm that the form factor property (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms679150.aspx) in the endpoint's property store is Speakers. Hi, I have an audio device which exposes a SPDIF, speaker and headphone endpoints as rendering endpoints. Currently, after a fresh installation, the headphone endpoint is always set as the default endpoint by the OS. Is there any way in which I can specify for the speaker endpoint to be selected as the default endpoint instead? Thanks KS
