WmaLfxGfxDsp.dll is the .dll that hosts the inbox System Effects Audio
Processing Objects. You can read about how SysFX APOs work here:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/windows/hardware/drivers/audio/system-effects-audio-processing-objects
These replace the concept of GFX filters (
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/drivers/audio/gfx-filters ;),
which were a thing in Windows XP but no longer work since kmixer.sys was
removed in Windows Vista.

Subject: [wdmaudiodev] Installing a GFX filter
The latest Windows installations have a global effects filter
(WMALFXGFXDSP.dll).
Here is the driver stack for USB audio on my laptops.

It appears that this has been around since October 2013

I did a search on the Internet for what the purpose of this DLL is but came up
empty.
I have two questions.
1) What is the purpose of this DLL (possibly environmental audio for
gaming)?
2) If we develop a GFX filter will it install if there is already a GFX
filter?
Thanks,
ChrisP
