about this list because another driver dev referred me).
The #1 mailing list for that is the [ntdev] list at community.osr.com
<
http://community.osr.com/>.
The IDDCX_TARGET_MODE struct has a 'RequiredBandwidth' member with only vague
documentation:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/ddi/iddcx/ns-iddcx-iddcx_target_mode
It seems unambiguous to me. A given mode (width, height, pixel size, refresh)
has an easily computed bandwidth. What else could it be?
I filed an issue with Microsoft
(https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/windows-driver-docs-ddi/issues/1018), but
I'm unlikely to get an answer back very quickly...
The docs team is quite responsive. I’ve submitted 3 or 4 pull requests with
suggested rewrites, and all have been adopted within a few days.
