Actually my question is:

If there is a way to detect if a call is coming from an application through
DirectKS calls or through OS Audio APIs (WinMM/DirectSound/WASAPI)?

Our driver wants to treat applications that open through DirectKS a little
differently, that's why I want to know.

What leads you to think there is a difference?

Stream.sys is part of KS. Can you describe more specifically what
information you are after?
