So you change the speaker config from stereo to multichannel in the Sound
control panel, and then you reboot, and it’s stereo again?

Definitely not intended. Please file a problem report in Feedback Hub as

Subject: [wdmaudiodev] KSPROPERTY_AUDIO_CHANNEL_CONFIG (Speaker Setup)

Hello,

I'm developing an audio driver. It supports
KSPROPERTY_AUDIO_CHANNEL_CONFIG and shows the speaker setup.

The driver stores the selected format in the registry and reads the
format from the registry on it's initialisation.

But every time the machine reboots the format reverts to the default
format which is set by the .inf file via

HKR,"EP\\0",%PKEY_AudioEngine_OEMFormat%

If I just unload and reload the driver the last selected format remains
the same.

My question now is wether this behaviour (format reverts to Stereo on
reboot) is intended or am I missing something?

thanks,

/Uwe
