Hi, The Audio Widget project has open source firmware and ASIO driver for asynchronous USB Audio Class 2. There are two hardware implementations, both with open source schematics. Both use the same Device firmware on an AVR32 MCU. I'm responsible for one of them, the AB-1.2 modular USB DAC. It plays music as-is, right out-of-the-box. And it is designed so that both hardware and firmware can be modded by those so inclined. I hope this may spark some interest.
