As I understand it, audio drivers were never allowed to use the "unclassified" 
program anyway; the unclassified program was meant only for devices which 
didn't fall into a more specific category.

The HCK is now smart enough to figure out what kind of tests to run on a device 
based on the interfaces it exposes. So if it exposes KSCATEGORY_AUDIO, the HCK 
knows to run the audio tests.

Now that the latest windows HCK (was WLK 1.x) no longer seems to allow 
"Unclassified Driver Signature" submissions, has anyone been able to determine 
wether that really means that complete compliance with the latest HCK's every 
(auto-detected) whim is the only way to get your driver(s) on Windows Update 
now?
