WDM is a somewhat misunderstood term. Essentially, any driver that gets
loaded by plug-and-play (as opposed to service manager) is WDM.
Technically speaking, there's more to it than that; a strictly WDM
driver uses a reduced set of APIs that allow it to run on Windows 98,
but in practical terms that no longer really matters.
