Alyssa, get to know NVDA.  It will be a good friend (smile).

Thank you, David. I did not think Window Eyes was available anymore. I know how to use it a bit but am not very familiar with NVDA.

Hi Alyssa,

the crashing while using Jaws has started with the Windows 10 creators update, and Freedom Scientific are aware of the problem. There are no problems when using either NVDA or Window-Eyes, so the recommended work around is to use one of these other screen readers when using Audacity until the problem is fixed,

David.

    Hi all.

I know I’ve missed messages on this subject due to life.

In the latest update to Audacity running Win 10 and JFW 18, I’m
experiencing crashes whenever I do nearly anything.

Is there a way to get around this, or does Windows need to fix
something? It is happening on two different computers unfortunately.
