Yes, you should have some feedback, the label input dialog should pop up.
However, it works only during playback or recording (used to be
different if I don't err).
Use Control+B instead.
After x, you can adjust the position with the arrow keys or with
(shift+) period and comma.
Use Shift+F5 to listen to what's before this position.
It's also a good idea to place the cursor at a zero crossing before
creating the label (shortcut key = z).
Also, you could create a macro for X, Z, Control+B.
There's also the label editor under edit -> Labels -> Edit Labels
where you can adjust the name and times of the labels manually and
after creation.

It's only x followed by Control+M. No need to select anything.
In fact, you need only the latter because you can let the playback
keep running and add the point labels on the fly.
However, I prefer clips but I don't export multiple songs in general.

end. The tracks can quickly be named with the context menu. Am I missing
something or are there quicker shortcuts for using labels? Thanks.
