It really depends on the kind of project your working with and if you
want to do the alignment by ear.
Here's the full-blown procedure:
1. Search for a point where the asynchronicity is very apparent.
Select a region around this point (some seconds or so).
2. Now, go to the menu and look for "Play Region". In Audacity 2.2.0
it will be in the transport menu but I think it was formerly in the
Edit menu.
Select "Lock Region" from this sub menu.
3. Deselect all tracks but the one you've just recorded.
4. Press j in order to go to the beginning of this track.
5. (optionally) Press control+2 to set the zoom level to normal.
6. move the edit cursor with the arrow keys
7. Go to the align menu of the tracks menu and choose "Align with
Cursor/selection start".
8. Listen
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until you're satisfied, use also Control+1 and
Control+3 to change the step size for the arrow key movement.
10. Go again to the "Play Region" sub menu and choose "Unlock Region".
It keeps being locked until you move the cursor.
It is pretty clear that this is all much easier with key strokes assigned.
Mine are: q to lock a region, Shift+q to unlock it and Shift+a to
align a track with the cursor/selection start.

I use windows wasapi rather than windows mapper or MME.
If i save my work regularly, though, latency is apparently less for
future tracks.
But if a track is out of sinc, how can i correct it without having to
perform once again?
