Hi Gary
I suspect you have not selected the track. Pressing Enter when focus is on
a track will toggle selection on and off. If the track is not selected when
you paste, the material will be placed on a fresh track. That is probably
why you are hearing both lots of material at once - both tracks are playing.

Hi there listers. It is my first time mailing this list. I want to place a
large amount of audio that I have copied to the clipboard at the end of the
track. However, when I go to the end of the track and paste the audio, it
paists it at the beginning and then the audio place in conjunction with the
previous audio that is already there. How can I remedy this
