This is the first time I've ever written on this list, because my English
works much better for reading than for writing, but I have a problem and
maybe I'll find a solution around here.
It happens that I recorded a live audio, which I currently have in a single
wav file, and for various reasons from a moment (about the 10th minute of 2
hours) the input volume dropped noticeably. I've used normalize to 0 dB to
try to fix it, but of course, the gain increases throughout the track and
although the first 10 minutes don't suffer any kind of distortion, in fact
it could continue to increase, the rest of the track doesn't go up enough.
That's why I tried to normalize the whole track first and then normalize
from the 10th minute onwards to 0 dB again (I think it won't distort, the
volume is really low) but even though when I preview the volume increases,
when the effect is applied I don't notice any difference. The only result
I've had on the volume increase is using the compressor, but on the one
hand I don't understand its parameters and on the other hand I'm afraid
this will be causing me loss in the audio that will be excessively visible
in a spectral analysis.
Ideas?
