Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your response. The host I'm using is Windows WASAPI. Under Recording
I have both Detect dropouts and sound activation unchecked.
I hope to get time to run a few more tests and do some more experimenting today.

Hi Stan
The whole loopback thing is a mystery to me, as my mixer allows me to record
anything from anywhere. That said, I cannot imagine why silence would not be
recorded. The only possible setting within Audacity I can think of that would
cause silences not to be recorded is if sound activation were turned on. Can
you give more details of the configuration you are using.

Subject: [audacity4blind] Recording blank spaces between songs
Hi y'all,
What I'm wanting to do is record everything that's coming through the Internet
loopback, including the silence between sounds.
When I record with a microphone it does continue to record even when I'm not
speaking or there's no sound. I just can't get the same result when recording
from a loopback.
Is there a setting in preferences somewhere I'm missing?
Much thanks,
StanB
