Hi David.

Thanks for that I will have a look.

The turntable is actually working ok now, but sometimes I get lots of incredibly noisy static. Having looked at the instructions, it says that if u use a usb hub it can cause this. Anyway I've resolved it by turning off the speakers when I tape.

I've been looking at amplification today. Its really like having your own recording studio on the computer, can't believe it.

Many thanks.

Ron

Subject: [audacity4blind] Ron, about USB turntables and Audacity

Hi Ron,

Below is a post from one of the Audacity developers.

David

Hi David

Please ask your correspondent to have a look at our Wiki page on USB
turntables:
http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=USB_turntables

It's very unusual that upgrading from stable to Beta makes any difference
to USB turntable problems - i.e. there aren't any issues per se that mean they will work with PortAudio v19 (in 1.3.x) but not PortAudio v18 (in 1.2.x).
However he should upgrade to 1.2.5 or 1.2.6 if he has not already done so.
